Glaswegian Tallia, real name Natalya Storm Hartman, tweeted before the show: ‘At the stadium – stage is huge – omg – so excited!’ Elton rang Tallia on her mobile to ask if she would play the gig at Falkirk Football Stadium when David passed on the demo she gave him after spotting him on holiday in Hawaii.

The teenager, who has had more than 1 million hits on music-sharing site Myspace, said the break was ‘one of the most surreal experiences in my life’. She said: ‘I really didn’t know what to say at first but he was so excited about my music. He was warm, and totally down-to-earth.’
