Elton John and band performed in New York City on September 24, 2005
Sunday, September 25 2005

Fan report and photos by Stephan Heimbecher.

Tonight's show was pretty similar to the night before, except that I had floor seats and was able to get to the stage right after "Tiny Dancer".

It all started with thunder and rain (on the LED curtain) before Elton entered the stage at 8.10 pm. He performed the same set list as during the two previous shows at the Garden, and also his song introductions were pretty similar, if not identical.

However, seeing the show from a different, closer angle made it seem very much different.

Before "We All Fall In Love Sometimes", Elton again did introduce Bernie, who was in the audience just like on Friday night, and again I did asked myself why Bernie wouldn't come up on stage - at least briefly - during the "Captain Fantastic" set.

Besides Bernie, there also was the cast of Elton and Bernie's upcoming musical "Lestat" present.

At the end of the show, Elton appeared to be sincerely touched by the New York's crowd reaction, and he made sure to tell them repeatedly that they are the best audience and that Madison Square Garden is "the best venue in the world." He might be right about that ...
