Elton to tie knot in style
Sunday, October 23 2005

With only a few months until his wedding, Elton John is focused on choosing his celebrity bridal party, reports the Sunday Telegraph.

Elton intends to marry his partner of 11 years, David Furnish as soon as possible after December 21, 2005 – the date same-sex marriages will become legal in Britain.

Although the couple insisted they wanted a "low-key" ceremony it is more likely to be one of the hottest showbiz weddings of the year.

Victoria Beckham and Liz Hurley, longtime friends of the pair, are top contenders to appear in the bridal party – whether as bridesmaids or groomsmen is yet to be decided.

Elton anticipates the wedding, most likely to be held at his $18 million estate in Windsor, Berkshire, will be a lavish affair.

"We won't try to hide it, there's no point in that," he said. "It will be a celebration."

The ceremony is expected to be held Claridge's Hotel in London or in the private chapel of the Windsor property.
